What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive complementary wellness practice that originated in Japan.

During a Reiki experience, you remain fully clothed and comfortably resting on a treatment table while your practitioner uses light touch or positions their hands just above the body.

There is no massage, manipulation, needles, or physical exertion.

Think of it as intentional stillness with supportive energy healing.

Many people use Reiki as part of a broader wellness routine when they are looking for relaxation, mindfulness, emotional grounding, or simply uninterrupted time to slow down.
People often describe their sessions as deeply peaceful. Some feel warmth or tingling. Some become emotional. Some experience pain relief, Some fall asleep.

And some simply feel incredibly relaxed and balanced.

There is no “right” way to experience Reiki.

At MEND, Reiki is not presented as a replacement for medical or mental-health care, and we don’t make promises that Reiki will diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent a medical condition.
